Shani Dev, the deity associated with the planet Saturn. Shani is revered as a powerful and significant celestial force in Vedic astrology, often considered a dispenser of karma and justice. In our routine lives, there is a great importance of the kindness and the power of God Shani. Shani occupies the seventh place among the nine planets which govern the world. This is viewed as unlucky in conventional astrology. On Saturdays, it is believed that one should worship Lord Shani to keep oneself away from evil and to reduce the hardships of life as he blesses those who willingly and voluntarily donate to the poor without seeking anything in return.
This is the first Shani Maharaj temple in Dallas.
For those going thru Sade Sati Dasha, MahaDasha, Antardasha or if Shani Dev is your Rashi or Lagna lord, your life can reap tremendous benefits by visiting the Shani Dev temple.
Shani Dev should not be worshipped at home.
Shani is associated with discipline, detachment, and austerity, qualities that may be challenging to integrate into the domestic environment, which is traditionally a space of comfort and familial bonding.
Worshipping Shani requires a strict regimen and a focus on inner purification, which might not align well with the casual or distracted environment of most households.
We offer a variety of services and activities including daily puja and festivals! Check back here to see what's coming up at Shani Mandir DFW!

In the sacred texts of Sanatan Dharma, there is a lesser-known yet powerful story of Lord Shani and Lord Hanuman that speaks volumes about devotion, humility, and divine protection.
When Lord Hanuman was burning down Lanka in search of Mata Sita, Shani Dev — curious about this radiant vanara warrior — tried to test him. As Shani attempted to enter Hanuman’s tail to afflict him with his gaze, Hanuman coiled his tail so tightly that Shani found himself trapped and in immense pain.
Shani Dev pleaded for release, and Hanuman, ever compassionate, set him free. Grateful, Shani Dev promised that whoever worships Hanuman with true devotion will be protected from the adverse effects of his planetary influence. Thus, Hanuman became the only deity with the power to shield devotees from Shani’s wrath.
